So, whatever happened to Glorieta as our site for ESCAPE 2012?
As many of you many have hard, Glorieta canceled most of its contracts. The NMSARC was left with the daunting task of finding another suitable location at the last minute. All of the secondary sites that we looked at before deciding on Glorieta had been booked by the time we got the notice from Glorieta.
Statement on Glorieta Conference Center
Fall Trustee Meeting, September 2011
On Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, the Trustees of LifeWay Christian Resources Approved a recommendation to reduce operations at Blorieta Conference Center (Glorieta, N. M.) Effective Nov. 1, 2011, the center, will offer only summer events for student groups. Centrifuge Camps and Collegiate Week will continue as usual.

As a result, the NMSARC scoured the state looking for a location that could serve our purposes. We preferred a Notrhern location, we needed it to be large enough to serve our classroom needs and our assembly needs, but we also wanted a location that could keep us together for meals and lodging. We feel that ESCAPE is not only about the first class education, but the networking and camaraderie are just as important. Plus it had to be somewhat affordable.
The Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino extended its hand to us with a great discount and venue.
We are confident that we have raised the bar at ESCAPE yet again.
